Florin Serban, teacher at The Acting School, director and writer BOX.

Working with an actor involves much more than "This is the text, that's the character, learn it well, we'll meet on the set in a week, and we'll see what we can make of it..." It involves hours, days, months, years of knowledge and hard work, steps forward, steps backward, setbacks and patience. But, if there's a will, there's a way. All these are possible if the actor and the director work together, and listen to their calling, because it takes a lot of courage and TRAINING to get it right. One cannot learn about willingness, calling or courage, but one has to work hard for the training. That's what I tried to do in the Acting School.
If I was successful in creating the right characters for the students of The Acting School... we'll soon see about that.
